I’ve tested the 13 best Kansas registered agent services. Here’s my review.

My mind is usually in a paranoid condition. I’m not sure how it happened, but this attitude compels me to investigate every item before purchasing.

A year ago I resolved to test and review the top Kansas registered agent service providers to cure my skeptical mind.

After 12 months of difficult research, I was able to narrow down a list of the top 13 Kansas registered agent service providers.

Here are the results of my research.

Best Budget Option: Harbor Compliance

  • Fast and prompt service
  • All the basics
  • Only $99*

Visit Harbor Compliance

Harbor Compliance was a strong candidate for first place before I chose Northwest Registered Agent as my favorite Kansas registered agent.

They supplied all of the registered agent essentials I needed to keep my business in good standing with the Kansas Secretary of State, and unlike any other Kansas registered agent, they assigned me a dedicated account manager who supported me with my LLC formation procedure.

The account manager helps with service issues but does not offer the professional small business advice that I receive from the Northwest Registered Agent Corporate Guides. This is why Harbor Compliance is second on my list.

My Process

It took a year to figure out which Kansas registered agent is the best. In this section, I outline the process I followed to reach my conclusions.

My Start

I’m usually a very skeptical person, especially when dealing with sleazy corporate entities that are always competing to take more cash from my purse. I find myself in front of my laptop for extended periods of time researching items as simple as a stick blender just to be sure that I’m getting my money’s worth.

These unusual business methods are nothing new to the Kansas registered agent service sector. Certain resident agent services promise affordable, timely, and secure service, but end up being untrustworthy

I’ve had my fair share of bad luck with shady Kansas registered agents, so I figured the best way to keep myself and others from suffering the same fate was to sign up with all the Kansas registered agents and put their services to the test.

It was the only way I could get rid of my paranoid state, once and for all.

So, armed with my credit card, I signed up for every Kansas registered agent service and began a months-long evaluation process.

My Criteria

I drew up a few criteria that would help me determine which Kansas registered agent was the best.

The first item on my list was the scope of LLC services that each national registered agent in Kansas had on offer. A registered agent must provide a comprehensive suite of services at a set price, and it’s vital that they don’t include hidden fees or pushy upsells in their marketing materials. I won’t be tricked into unnecessary and expensive services, and neither should you.

It was critical that the Kansas registered agent I chose provided the following services:

  • Fast processing and filing of my Articles of Organization with the Secretary of State
  • Scanning, uploading, and forwarding of all my mail
  • A registered office that receives important communication from the Kansas Secretary of State
  • Compliance alerts so that I don’t miss important filing deadlines
  • An intuitive and streamlined registration process
  • A registered office that is a physical address in the state of Kansas that serves as a point of contact and receives service of process on behalf of my LLC
  • Must be open all week during normal business hours to receive my business documents

Any registered agent within the state that didn’t provide these services, or included some of them only in their more expensive packages, was crossed off my list.

Second, a Kansas registered agent must have a track record of reliable service. They must have a minimum of 10 years of business experience. I wouldn’t know what to do if my crucial business data was compromised because the rookie Kansas registered agent I chose failed to adequately safeguard my information.

Ease of access was also a significant component in my decision. A good Kansas registered agent must be up to date. That implies they must have a smooth online registration procedure, quick processing times, and a user-friendly website.

Lastly, their customer service personnel must be available all week during regular business hours to provide assistance in a friendly and helpful manner.

My Journey

When I started this investigation, I thought I had my work cut out for me, but I was surprised by the number of registered agents I crossed off my list during the initial stage of my research.

A deeper examination of the websites of a few of Kansas registered agents found that they have sworn off aggressive upsells and marketing. I ruled out any Kansas registered agent service that employed these obnoxious marketing tactics.

Next, I researched the operating histories of the remaining Kansas registered agent service providers and discovered that over half of them had been in business for less than five years, and the bad customer feedback they got convinced me to eliminate them from my list. I wanted a dependable Kansas registered agent that would not abandon me when times got tough.

The number of Kansas registered agent services had now been reduced to roughly 20. I looked at their sign-up methods, how user-friendly their online systems were, and whether they incorporated any other current forms of communication. I’d hate to employ a resident agent who still uses old modes of communication in the twenty-first century, such as fax machines.

Finally, I talked to the customer care representatives of the remaining resident agent service providers just to test their demeanor and manners and anyone that gave me the cold treatment or was rude and disrespectful, was off my list.

I was left with 13 Kansas registered agent service providers who showed some potential at the end of the final screening round.

My Results

Here are the results of my 12 months of hard work:

My Favorite Registered Agent Service: Northwest Registered Agent

Northwest Registered Agent offers everything my business entity needs to be in good standing with the Kansas Secretary of State, as well as the best customer support in the business.

My Experience

Northwest Registered Agent made certain that my Articles of Organization were filed and submitted to the Secretary of State, and they provided a registered office that is a physical street address in Kansas and can receive service of process and other official communication.

They scan, upload, and forward all legal mail and other documents to my online document portal, as well as ensuring that I receive compliance reminders for critical filing dates, such as the submission of my annual report.

Northwest Registered Agent also distinguish themselves from many other service providers by maintaining their own network of local offices where they receive and scan legal mail on behalf of customers. They protect their customers’ privacy and guarantee a constant level of quality by keeping all aspects of their business in-house.

But it was their customer support that won me over. It’s by far the best you’ll get in the state of Kansas.

Their Corporate Guides are constantly there to help me with my business challenges by providing incredible small business advice, and as I previously stated, their knowledge in different business-related disciplines means that no problem is too huge for them to tackle.

When I had problems recruiting workers for my new firm in Kansas, for example, I contacted one of the Corporate Guides, who provided me with excellent advice on how to locate qualified staff.

My Recommendation

I would certainly recommend Northwest Registered Agent to anybody starting a business in Kansas and looking for a trustworthy and reasonably priced resident agent. Their customer service is also far superior to any other Kansas registered agent service on my list.

They ensure that my business entity is in compliance with the Kansas Secretary of State’s office, and their Corporate Guides are always accessible to give excellent business advice if you have any difficulties during your everyday business activities.

Visit Northwest Registered Agent today if you are looking for a commercial resident agent who delivers dependable services and exceptional small business advice.

My Budget Pick: Harbor Compliance

Harbor Compliance is the cheapest resident agent service in Kansas. They don’t offer the same breadth of LLC services as Northwest Registered Agent, but you’ll appreciate the dedicated account manager.

My Experience

Harbor Compliance was able to forward my Articles of Organization to the Secretary of State (although not as fast as Northwest Registered Agent did), and they provided a registered office and business address in Kansas available during business hours to receive service of process on behalf of my Kansas LLC while keeping my real contact details and office address off the public record.

Their website was easy to navigate, and the sign-up page had pre-filled data forms, which saved me a lot of time.

The dedicated account manager is one aspect of their services that I particularly value. They are currently the only registered agent in Kansas with this feature.

The primary distinction between the Northwest Registered Agent Corporate Guides and Harbor Compliance’s dedicated account manager is that the Corporate Guides are more knowledgeable about business issues and go above and beyond their resident agent mandate to offer business advice, whereas the account manager is only responsible for keeping my registered agent account details up to date.

My Recommendation

At $99 (plus state fees), Harbor Compliance is Kansas’s most affordable commercial registered agent. They’re a respected company that delivers reliable resident agent services.

They’ll ensure that your business entity stays on the right side of the law in Kansas and that your legal duties to the Secretary of State are satisfied. If you run into any problems, their dedicated account manager will walk you through the sign-up process and give service-related support throughout your LLC journey.

Visit Harbor Compliance today to get more acquainted with their resident agent services.

The Other Registered Agent Services

I examined 11 additional registered agents in addition to my two favorite Kansas registered agents. They don’t have much to write about, but I thought I’d give them a little shout out.

Rapid Registered Agents—A few fun features

Rapid Registered Agent charges $120 for resident agent services in Kansas. They offer cost-effective and convenient services, such as an online account and prompt service of process notifications.

Their customer support is competent, but not at the same level as the Northwest Registered Agent Corporate Guides.

Rocket Lawyer, which was formed in 2008, is well known for providing clients with low-cost legal services. This company is a real treat for anyone looking for reputable business formation services and registered agents. They handle all legal documents on behalf of your company, including service of process.

The drawback is that this firm is more pricey than Northwest Registered Agent or Harbor Compliance. The registered agent service is $149 if purchased independently.

Team ‘Nothing Special’

The four registered agent service providers in Kansas listed below are so identical that they don’t need to be named individually.

These companies include Jumpstart Filings ($150 plus filing fee), SunDoc Filings ($159 plus filing fee), Registered Agents Inc. ($200 plus filing fee), and Incorporate.com ($235 plus filing fee).

These registered agent service providers deliver exactly what I’m looking for in a registered agent service without adding anything unusual or intriguing to the mix. Considering these registered agents’ prices, Northwest Registered Agent is a more logical choice.

Team ‘Big Brand’

LegalZoom ($299), Wolters Kluwer ($305), SwiftFilings ($149), CSC Global ($381), and CT Corporation ($319) are some of the big-name registered agent service providers in Kansas that don’t have any interesting features other than nice-looking websites and competent marketing specialists but are happy to demand exorbitant costs for what is practically the same LLC service as Northwest Registered Agent.

Wrapping It All Up

I finally got a list of the 13 best Kansas registered agent service providers after 12 months of arduous research, and I was able to deal with my long-standing anxiety about being the victim of a money-swindling corporation.

Northwest Registered Agent is by far the most spectacular of them all.

They provide everything my Limited Liability Company (LLC) needs to stay on the right side of the law:

  • Scanning, uploading, and forwarding of my mail
  • Compliance notifications to notify me of approaching filing deadlines with the Kansas Secretary of State
  • A registered office in Kansas that is available during regular business hours to serve as a point of contact and accept service of process
  • Online access to important business and legal documents on a secure portal

The reason they rank so high is their Corporate Guides. No other registered agent in Kansas comes close to matching their level of service. Northwest Registered Agent employs in-house, US-based customer service professionals rather than outsourced call center personnel.

They assist me with all of my service-related questions, and they’ll also go above and beyond to provide me with top-notch small business advice for my Kansas LLC.

You simply can’t go wrong with Northwest Registered Agent.

Visit Northwest Registered Agent today if you need a registered agent in Kansas that checks all the boxes for your Kansas Limited Liability Company (LLC).
