British Land - Sustainability Exhibition

In 2007 British Land worked with BitC and local property management teams to launch a Sustainability Exhibition, which has since toured 17 British Land properties, giving over five million people the opportunity to find out how they can reduce their carbon footprint and make good environmental choices.

British Land's investment:

Over £165,000 in 2007/08, including funding two graduates to staff the stands.

Project Achievements:

As a result of viewing the exhibition, over 4,000 people pledged to improve their own environmental impacts, potentially saving over 3,500 tonnes of carbon emissions, 3.3 million litres of water and 1,500 trees each year. Pledges include reducing energy and water use, using public transport more and recycling regularly.
